Jessica Blue - The Dark Of Light (1985)

This one's for the italo-disco fans out there, as it's been a while for the genre to make an appearance on this blog. This is the only Jessica Blue release that I'm aware of -- Now, I could be wrong on this, but... I'm pretty sure there was a law enacted in Italy that restricted italo-disco artists to just one release, at which point it was mandatory for them to disappear into obscurity forever. Well, at least that's what it seems like sometimes.

In any case, this 12" features three takes on essentially the same song, but it's a good'n. You can find a copy of this record through the usual outlets for what I'd consider a reasonable price. Well worth it for a gem such as this. Enjoy!

Ruins - Ruins EP (1984)

It's been a while since I've posted something in the funky, italo vein. So I'm going with this nice 12" EP from, you guessed it, Italy. Thanks to Ale for tipping me off to it, some time ago. Session - Unit The Forces (1986)

Absolutely brilliant and highly sought after synthpop 7" out of Sweden. The B-side "Enemy" is well-circulated from various comps, but the title track is quite elusive. Well, until now. It goes without saying that if you're hoping to buy this one (if it ever surfaces), it isn't going to come cheap. Hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Art Déco - European Crime (1985)

Ok, most of the time I get pretty worn out by a song when it runs to 7 or 8 minutes, but somehow I don't mind listening to every last second of this one. Art Déco are a short-lived band from Italy that released this and two other 12" records between 85-86. I have the other two records if anyone's interested, but this one is far and away the best (in my opinion). I should note, I don't have the "shorter" version (track B1) ripped, so it's not included in the upload, but I'll remedy that as soon as I can.

Art Fine - Dark Silence (1985)

Well, good luck getting ahold of this one. Super rare italo-disco 12" that I believe fetched $500 on eBay at one point. Really catchy tune.
